Institute of Art and Culture

Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) Institute of Art and Culture was founded in 2016, originally an educational research group of scholars from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology School of Art and design, School of Fashion Art and Engineering, and BIFT Museum of Ethnic Costumes. The Institute currently has 14 research assistants, include three tenured professors, six associate professors, and five lecturers. Twelve members of the Institute have Ph.D. degree who are the core educational research resources, one of them is a Ph.D. supervisor and eight members are master program supervisors. The BIFT Institute of Art and Culture is established in Fashion Design Theory, Art Design Theory, Art and Fashion Aesthetics, Dunhuangology and Art History; and achieved a great amount of research publications. The Institute regularly conducts national and state scientific research projects for BIFT and contributes quality educational theoretical research to the academia. In 2016, BIFT officially founded the Institute of Art and Culture after a structural reorganization. With the guiding theory of BIFT, “achieve characteristic educational program incorporates with design and technique”, the Institute and its members will continue organize and utilize BIFT’s academic resources to the greatest extent to advance educational and theoretical researches. BIFT Institute of Art and Culture is committed to contribute to the Chinese contemporary art research.
