We offer five majors: Painting (oil painting), Chinese Painting, Public Art, Sculpture, and Painting (teacher training), and provide the teaching of art basics and art theory courses for the whole institute. Public Art and Chinese Painting are national first-class undergraduate majors under the “Double First-Class Major” program of the Ministry of Education, and Painting (oil painting) and Sculpture are provincial first-class undergraduate majors under the “Double First-Class Major” of the Ministry of Education. We have two master's degree programs in Fine Arts and Art Theory (primary disciplines), a key discipline in Beijing. In the fifth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education, Fine Arts was rated B, and Art Theory was rated B-. In the national vocational degree evaluation by the Ministry of Education, Fine Arts was rated B+.

Sticking to BIFT’s philosophy, the School of Fine Arts carries out talent training, academic research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchange and cooperation. Pursuing "educating students with great love," we encourage students and faculty to root themselves in the times, paint the world with the art of great beauty, continue the tradition and promote fashion based on contemporary times, and discover the beauty, create beauty and spread beauty through art creation and academic research.
The faculty has recently undertaken dozens of national and provincial (ministerial) scientific research and teaching reform projects, publishing hundreds of papers (works) and highly academic and influential teaching materials and monographs. Artworks have won awards in important exhibitions at home and abroad, such as the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, Beijing International Art Biennale, and National Major Theme Art Creation program.
Led by discipline capacity building, we aim to build a national first-class art major, actively carry out domestic and international artworks exhibitions and exchanges, and continuously hold high-level international art theory academic activities, making outstanding contributions to talent cultivation, scientific research, and innovative practice in serving the construction of the national cultural center. We have trained many artists with solid modeling expertise, excellent humanistic qualities, outstanding creativity, and high-quality professionals meeting society's needs.
