Admission Guidelines for 2025 Non-Degree Chinese Language Training Program for International Students

As the only official language of China, Chinese has been attracting more and more attention and love of foreigners with its long history and abundant cultural connotations. With many years of language training experience, the Chinese Language Training Program of the School of International Education, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT), has carefully designed the Chinese language teaching program according to the different characteristics and needs of international students with multi-level training sessions. Taking full advantage of BIFT's resources, it has also set up special courses including Chinese painting, calligraphy, photography, and Chinese fashion culture. In addition, it will take students to visit the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, the Summer Palace, and other historical sites for language practice, aiming to promote Chinese and spread Chinese culture to the world.

I. Course Overview

1. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. BIFT divides students into three levels based on their Chinese proficiency: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, with each level of different classes.

2. Objectives: Beginner Class focuses on basic Chinese knowledge training. Intermediate Class improves reading skills and develops writing skills while consolidating basic Chinese knowledge. Advanced Class guides students to understand Chinese culture more comprehensively and accurately and integrate into Chinese society while further consolidating and improving listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

3. Duration: One semester/One year

4. Curriculum: A combination of listening and speaking courses and comprehensive courses will be used to teach the Chinese language systematically. At the same time, Chinese culture study tours or extracurricular language practice activities will be arranged on irregular basis.

II. Class Duration

According to students' number, each semester has 16 to 20 weeks and each week has 12 to 20 class hours.

Customized courses regarding study tour and exchange projects are set up according to actual needs.

III. Application Requirements

1. In principle, applicants should be non-Chinese citizens between the ages of 18 and 50 complying with the relevant provisions of the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China and hold a valid foreign passport.

2. Applicants should be of good character, in good health, abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China and BIFT's discipline, and respect Chinese customs.

VI. Admission and Enrollment

5. Get the Admission Letter and the Visa/Stay Permit/Residence Permit Application Form. Download the Confirmation Form for Study in China (JW202) to apply for a student visa

Note: All fees must be paid through BIFT's payment platform with a computer, and by scanning the QR code via WeChat.

VIII. Management of International Students

1. The management of international students is carried out in accordance with the Administrative Measures for Recruiting and Cultivating International Students issued by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, as well as the BIFT's regulations on student status and dormitory management.

2. After entering China, international students must undergo a medical examination at the Outpatient Department of Beijing International Travel Health Care Center within one week and obtain the original Certificate of Verification for Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.

3. Visa management

(1) For overseas applicants who have been admitted and completed the payment, BIFT will send the Admission Letter and JW202 form via email. Upon receiving the materials, applicants should promptly apply for an X1 visa at the Chinese embassies or consulates abroad. After arriving in China, applicants must convert the X1 visa into a stay permit for study within 30 days.

For applicants in China who have been admitted and completed the payment, BIFT will send the JW202 form to the registration email. Applicants need to collect the Admission Letter and Visa / Stay Permit / Residence Permit Application Form from BIFT, and then bring all materials to the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau to apply for a visa.

(2) If an applicant cannot register on time due to special reasons, they should send an email to request leave before the registration date. BIFT will reserve the admission qualification for one month. If the applicant fails to register on time without a valid reason or after taking leave, the admission qualification will be canceled.

(3) If an applicant already has a stay permit for studying in China before registration, they must go to the International Student Office to handle visa extension procedures one month before the stay permit expires.

4. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, international students must purchase medical insurance from an insurance company in the Chinese mainland. Students can pay online before registration or purchase medical insurance on the day of registration. BIFT will not process registration for those who have not purchased the required medical insurance.

5. Other matter not covered will be explained by the School of International Education, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.

1. From Beijing Capital International Airport:
