This work was inspired by the strange beast “Jue Ru” from the Chinese classic The Classic of Mountains and Seas, and explored environmental protection and cultural issues in the context of industrial civilization through its shape, texture and color matching. The other shortlisted works, Roots of Light by Lou Eu Cayte (Instructor: Li Zhiqian), paid tribute to the life consciousness in Avatar. She used recycled materials to create "root systems" and luminous mechanical flowers, interpreting the concept of life coexistence. Lou Eu Cayte was also interviewed by the organizing committee as a school representative after the competition. Yang Fuming's Wang Rong and Shan Tao and Wei Zihui's Rong Qiqi (both instructed by Ma Hongjin) respectively drew inspiration from "The Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove" and the art of portrait bricks, through contemporary reinterpretation and designs that blend ancient and modern, reveal a unique aesthetic charm.
