BIFT 2026 International Student Enrollment Prospectus of Undergraduates

Ⅰ. Introduction to the School of International Education (SIE)

The School of International Education (SIE) at BIFT is responsible for developing programs and management regulations related to the enrollment and cultivation of international students. Our work encompasses enrollment consultation, visa processing, education and teaching, and daily management for international students (both degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking) worldwide.

Since 1997, SIE has offered bachelor’s degree programs in Fashion Design, Product Design, Visual Communication, Environmental Design, Animation, Photography, Fashion Performance, Painting, and Sculpture, as well as Chinese language training courses and specialized programs in Chinese culture, art, and fashion. These programs have attracted thousands of international students from countries such as the US, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Australia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Korea, Ukraine, Japan, Denmark, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Ethiopia, Argentina, and Chile, as well as Chinese students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

Ⅱ. Duration of Study

The standard duration for undergraduate programs is 4 years, with a maximum of 6 years. Students who complete the required credits, and reach the graduation requirements, then they will be allowed to graduate and awarded the diploma and bachelor's degree issued by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The study mode is full-time.

Note: Military service time is not counted toward the length of schooling.

Ⅲ. Program Offerings

BIFT offers undergraduate programs in both art and non-art disciplines. For details, please refer to the attached documents.

Ⅳ. Application Requirements

1.Applicants must be foreign citizens holding a valid passport and aged between 18 and 25 (in principle).

2.Applicants who emigrated from China must provide a foreign passport issued before April 30, 2022, proof of canceled Chinese nationality, and evidence of residing abroad for at least 2 years within the past 4 years (a stay of 9 months or more in a year counts as one full year, verified by entry and exit stamps).

3.Applicants must be in good health, exhibit good conduct, and be willing to comply with the laws and regulations of China and BIFT’s disciplinary rules, while respecting Chinese customs.

4.Applicants must hold a recognized high school diploma or equivalent qualifications.

5.Chinese language proficiency must meet at least HSK Level 4.

Ⅴ. Application Deadline

Applications are accepted from the date of this announcement until June 30, 2026. For mailed applications, the postmark date will be considered the submission date. Send application materials to: gjyoffice@bift.edu.cn.

Ⅵ. Application Procedures

1.Submit the following materials via email (Note: Submitted materials will not be returned, regardless of admission status):

(1)Completed Application Form (downloadable from the website).

(2)Scholarship Application Form (downloadable from the website).

(3)Copy of passport.

(4)Copy of senior high school graduation certificate and academic transcripts.

(5)Copy of HSK transcript (Level 4 or above).

(6)Personal portfolio (for art programs; A4 size for painting copies).

(7)Copy of guarantor’s passport or ID card (issued by the guarantor or relevant institution).

(8)Proof of personal or family financial status.

(9)Study plan (approximately 800 words in Chinese).

(10)Other materials needed.(in Chinese or English).

Note: All certificates must be original or notarized copies.

2.Application fee: 600 RMB (non-refundable).

3.Online Interview or Exam: Arrangements will be announced later.

Ⅶ. Review Process

1.All application documents will be reviewed.

2.Art portfolios will be evaluated by a panel.

3.Application materials must be submitted by June 30, 2026.

4.Online interviews or exams will be conducted by July 5, 2026. Applicants are responsible for ensuring their contact information is up-to-date.

5.The admission list and scholarship levels will be determined based on the above steps.

Ⅷ. Admission Procedures

Admitted students must provide the following for registration:

1.Original and photocopy of the Admission Letter..

2.Review of all original application documents.

3.Review and sign the admission-related information confirmation form.

4.Photocopy of valid documents of the guarantor in China (for applicants under 18).

5.Valid visa, insurance policy, and medical examination report.

6.Two 2-inch passport-sized photos with white background.

7.Tuition fees for the first academic year (for students without scholarships, to be paid online).

8.Accommodation application (students intending to reside on campus must apply in advance. Dormitory assignments are allocated based on availability and application priority. Students must pay the full accommodation fees for the first semester prior to check-in).

Ⅸ. Fees and Scholarships (RMB)

1.Tuition Fees:

2.Dormitory Fees: 50–60 RMB/bed/day (paid in full for the semester via the school’s financial platform).

3.Scholarships: Eligible students may apply for the Beijing International Student Scholarship (Levels A–D; Level A covers full tuition of one year).

4.Medical Insurance: Mandatory for all students per regulations of the Ministry of Education of PRC.

Ⅹ. Accommodation

1.SIE offers dormitories with double or triple rooms, equipped with air conditioning, TV, shower facilities, and basic necessities. Some rooms include kitchens. Laundry facilities are shared.

2.Off-campus housing is permitted but must be registered with local authorities within 24 hours of moving in.

Ⅺ. International Student Management

1.Management follows regulations set by the Ministry of Education of PRC and BIFT’s policies.

2.New students undergo a 3-month review; unqualified students may face dismissal.

3.Non-resident visa holders must submit a medical examination form from the Haidian Clinic of Beijing International Travel Healthcare Center.

4.Visa Requirements:

(1)Admitted students will receive an Admission Notice and JW202 form by mail.

(2)Students must register with local police within 24 hours of arrival, complete school registration within a week, and obtain a residence permit within 30 days.

(3)Late submissions may result in admission cancellation.
